Sections 2 (16), 2 (21) and 2 (23) - Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 - Rules 14 and 16 - Heavy Goods Vehicle, Light Motor Vehicle and Medium Goods Vehicle - Words used in the Act earlier "Transport Vehicle" have now been substituted by "Medium Goods Vehicle" and "Heavy Goods Vehicle" - Light Motor Vehicle" at the relevant time covered both "Light Passenger Carriage Vehicle" and "Light Goods Carriage Vehicle" - Hence, a driver who had the license to drive "Light Motor Vehicle" was authorized to drive a "Light Goods Vehicle" as well - Contention of the appellant that the driver of the offending insured vehicle was not authorized to drive the vehicle in question - Rightly negated by the claims Tribunal and the High Court - Appeal dismissed with costs of Rs. 25000/-
